Starry Nights Glamping - Kodaikanal Wood House

If you head up to Shenbaganoor in Kodaikanal and find Pear Garden at Plot 14, that’s where we are. It’s a bit of a drive up the hills. We have this wood house that we’ve been looking after for a while. It’s not like staying in a big hotel with elevators and carpets. Here, things are much simpler. You can hear the wind in the trees and sometimes the mist comes right up to the porch. We spend a lot of our time making sure the place is clean and the blankets are folded. The weather in Kodaikanal changes fast, so one minute it’s sunny and the next it’s pouring rain. We’ve got a garden area that we try to keep tidy, though the wild plants like to take over if we don't watch them. Starry Nights Glamping is really just about being outside in the fresh air. We built the wood house to be a sturdy place to sleep while still feeling like you’re part of the woods. It’s quiet out here in Prakasapuram, far away from the main town center where all the tourists go. We like the peace of it. In the evenings, it gets quite cold, so we’re usually busy getting things ready for the night. It’s a lot of physical work, keeping the wood seasoned and the paths clear. We enjoy living up here and seeing the stars when the clouds clear out.
