If you’re driving down B M Road towards Kushalnagar, you’ll likely pass right by us at 27/499 on the Madikeri Road. It’s a busy stretch of road and we get a lot of travelers stopping in because they saw the sign or smelled the roasting from their cars. We’ve been working out of this spot for a good bit of time now. The air here in Kushalnagar usually feels a bit different, and when you add the scent of roasting coffee, it’s quite nice. Our days are mostly spent moving bags around and checking the moisture in the beans we get from the local estates. It's a lot of physical labor, and my back definitely feels it by the time we close up in the evening. The shop isn't very modern; we have older machines that make a lot of noise, but they get the job done and they’ve been reliable for years. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to dry things out properly, so we have to be extra careful with the storage in the back. We don’t really do much advertising or use social media. People just find us or hear about us from someone else. It's a straightforward business. We buy the beans, we process them, and we sell them to whoever stops by. There’s always a bit of a mess in the corner where we store the old sacks, but that’s just life.
