St Michaels English Medium Primary School

St Michaels English Medium Primary School is located right at Gt Circle in Madikeri. Being in Coorg, the weather here is often misty and cool, especially in the mornings when the children are arriving. The school is right there where the roads meet, so it’s easy for parents to drop their kids off. It’s a primary school, so we have the younger ones, from the little toddlers up to the fifth grade. The building has a bit of an old-fashioned feel to it, with some wooden elements that you see a lot in Madikeri. Inside, the walls are covered with drawings and charts that the kids have made. It’s usually quite loud with all the young children talking and playing. We have a small area for them to play during their breaks, though it can get a bit muddy when it rains, which happens a lot here in Coorg. The teachers are very patient because working with primary kids takes a lot of energy. They spend their days teaching the basics of English and math. We don't have any high-tech labs or anything like that; it’s all about the basic learning at this age. People in the town know us well because we’ve been at Gt Circle for a long time. It’s a local institution, really. We just keep things moving along, making sure the kids are safe and learning something new every day.
