Sri Venkatadri Coffee Works

Down here in Kushalnagar, near the Vasavamba Temple, things get pretty lively. We started Sri Venkatadri Coffee Works because we grew up around the smell of fresh grounds. The shop is small, and tucked right into the neighborhood where everyone knows each other. It’s mostly about the work for us. We spend a lot of time with the beans, making sure they’re handled right. People stop by on their way to the temple or just when they’re walking home from the market. It’s not a quiet place, especially when the machines are running. The noise is just part of the day. We don’t have a fancy waiting area or anything like that. People just stand around and chat while we get their orders ready. It’s a simple life, really. Some days the humidity makes things difficult, or the delivery truck is late, but that’s just how it goes when you run a small business. We try to keep things consistent so people know what to expect when they walk in. It’s just us working here, trying to make a living and providing something useful to the folks in Kushalnagar. We don’t do much advertising; word of mouth has always been enough for us. If you pass by the temple, you’ll likely hear us before you see us. That’s just the way we like it. We have been here for years and we know the rhythms of the street by heart now.
