Pep Coffee Traders (Opc) Private Limited is based at Prashantha Nilaya on Banavara Road. We are quite easy to find because the BSNL tower is right nearby in Somwarpet. It’s a one-person company setup, but there’s always someone around to help with the heavy lifting. The office is right on the road, so we hear the sound of buses and cars all day long. We deal with coffee trading, which involves a lot of phone calls and checking the local prices. Our space is filled with small sample tins and notebooks where we track everything. It’s not a polished corporate environment. The walls have a few scuffs and the furniture is just basic wooden desks. We spend a lot of time watching the weather because it matters so much for the coffee. When the rain starts hitting the roof, it gets very loud inside. We don’t have any big promotional talks. We just do the trading and manage the logistics from our spot here in Kodagu. Some days are slow and we just watch the people passing by on Banavara Road. It’s a regular job that keeps us connected to the local coffee community. We’ve been here for a while and the routine suits us well. We keep things moving and make sure the bags are loaded onto the trucks correctly before they head out to the next destination.
