Hari Provision Store

We have been running this provision store at 724, Kushalnagar for quite a few years now. Being here in Kodagu, the weather is often a bit misty in the mornings, so the first thing I do after opening up is check if any of the stock got damp overnight. It is just a small place packed with basic things like rice bags, dal, and different kinds of spices that people around here use for their daily cooking. I spend a lot of my time standing behind the wooden counter waiting for the neighbors to stop by. Usually, they come in for small things they ran out of, maybe a packet of tea or some sugar. The shelves are a bit crowded and I often have to move three things just to find one bottle of hair oil. It is not a fancy setup at all. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it works for what we need. Sometimes the local kids come in after school looking for some sweets, and that is when the shop feels the most alive. Most of the day is just quiet, with me listening to the sounds of the street and rearranging the tins of biscuits. I try to keep everything tidy, but with the constant deliveries and people coming in with muddy shoes when it rains, it is hard to keep the floor perfectly clean. We just stay here and do our work.
