If you come down to Plot 38 in the Major Industrial Estate, you’ll find us. Allianc Packagings is basically a bunch of machines and people making sure stuff gets wrapped up right. It’s usually pretty dusty and noisy because of the industrial estate environment. We spend a lot of time looking at cardboard and plastic. It’s simple work but it needs to be done right or things break during shipping. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. The morning shift starts early, usually when the sun is just coming up over the other sheds. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just a workshop floor where we handle the orders. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the morning fixing a belt or a motor. That’s just part of the job. People call us when they need boxes or wrapping for their products. We write down the measurements, check the stock, and get to it. It’s a lot of physical labor and keeping track of numbers. Lunch is usually quick because there is always another truck coming in or leaving. We just keep our heads down and work. It’s not a glamorous business, but every product needs a box. We are just the ones making them here in the estate.
