Shiva Shakthi is based in Edappally. Anyone who lives in Kochi knows that Edappally is basically the heart of everything now. Our place is right in the thick of it. It’s a busy area, so there is never a quiet moment. We have a shop floor where we keep our stock. It’s mostly boxes and crates stacked up high. We don't have a showroom with bright lights and mirrors. It’s more of a warehouse feel where things move in and out all day. We spend a lot of time checking inventory and loading things onto trucks. It’s physical work. You’re on your feet most of the time. The heat can get pretty bad in the afternoons, so we keep the big shutters open. You can hear the metro trains going past every few minutes. It’s just a normal part of the day now. We don't do any big promotions or ads. Most people find us because they saw the sign while stuck at the Edappally signal. We’ve been here for a good while and we know how the local market works. It’s not a complicated business. We buy things, we store them, and we sell them. It’s honest work and it keeps us tired but happy. The floor is concrete and we don't worry about keeping it spotless. It’s a working space for real people. We just get through the orders and try to stay out of the midday sun.
