If you are driving along the NH47-Bypass in Kochi, you’ll probably see the Palakkal Building standing there near the Chakkaraparambu junction. We are located on the second floor of that building, right on Vivekanandha Road in the Vennala area. It's a pretty busy spot with a lot of traffic passing by all the time. Most of the time, our rooms are filled with students who come in after their regular school hours to work on their science and math problems. We started this place because we saw a lot of kids in Ernakulam needed a quiet spot to study away from the noise of their homes. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep, but everyone gets used to them pretty fast. Inside, it's mostly just whiteboards, chairs, and a lot of notebooks piled up on the desks. We spend a lot of time talking about physics and chemistry, trying to make sense of the heavy textbooks. During the rainy season, you can hear the rain hitting the windows quite loudly, but the students usually just keep their heads down and keep working. Sometimes we have tea together in the small break area when things get too tiring. It isn't a corporate office or anything like that, just a simple space where we try to help out the local students with their studies. We've been here for a bit, and the neighborhood feels like home now.
