Pinkcat Film School is tucked away in Padivattom, Edappally. Kochi is a great place for anything related to movies, and being in Edappally puts us in a good spot. Our address is Pnra104, which is a bit of a quiet area compared to the main roads. It is a bit different from a traditional school. You’ll see people carrying tripods or sitting in front of monitors for hours. We have a lot of equipment lying around, and the rooms are often dark because of the editing work. It is a bit messy sometimes, with cables everywhere and people arguing about a shot or a script. But that is just the nature of film. Kochi gets a lot of rain, so there are days when we are all stuck inside just talking about cinema and drinking tea. It is a relaxed atmosphere, not corporate at all. We don't have uniforms or strict rules like that. It is more about getting your hands on the cameras and figuring things out. The building isn't huge, but we make use of every corner for shooting or teaching. It is just a group of people who are into films and a place that lets them do that. It feels more like a workshop than a formal institution. We just provide the space and the gear and let the students get to work on their projects. Sometimes we stay late when a project is due.
