Picado Spices

You can find us over at 9/321Ab1 on Jumma Masjid Road in the Kuzhikattumoola area. We’re tucked away in the Kakanad part of Ernakulam, near Kusumagiri. It’s a nice spot, though it can get a bit muddy when the rains come through. At Picado Spices, we spend our time dealing with the spices that grow so well in this part of the country. We aren't a corporate office with fancy furniture. We have a simple workspace where the real work happens. You’ll mostly see us weighing out pepper, cardamom, and ginger. We get our hands dirty every day because that’s the only way to make sure things are done right. The building isn't much to look at from the outside, but inside it’s filled with the smells of the harvest. We don't have a big team of sales people. It’s usually just us answering the phone and packing the crates. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just life here. We take things as they come. Our focus is just on the spices we have in front of us. We aren't trying to change the world; we’re just trying to provide something useful for people’s kitchens. We’ve stayed in this location because it’s where we belong. It’s quiet enough to get work done but close enough to the main roads to get our shipments out. It is just a practical way to run things.
