Our office is on the 1st floor of the Thamarasserry Building, right on Mullasserry Canal Road. You have to walk up the stairs to find us, which some people complain about, but it’s not too bad. It’s not the most modern building in the world, but it serves us well for our optical business. We have a view of the canal road from the windows, which can be quite interesting when the traffic is backed up during the monsoon. Inside, we have our equipment set up for testing eyes and checking prescriptions. It’s a quiet space once you get away from the street noise below. We have a variety of frames kept in glass cases that we’ve had for years. Some of the drawers stick a bit, but we know the trick to opening them. We don't go for any of that high-end boutique feel. It’s just a practical place for people to get their vision checked and pick out some sturdy glasses. We’ve been here long enough that we don't really need a big sign outside to tell people who we are. Most of our visitors are people who have heard about us from their neighbors or relatives. We take our time with every person, even if we are running a bit behind schedule. The ceiling fan wobbles a little, but it keeps the place cool enough for us to work without getting too bothered by the heat. We’ll probably get it fixed eventually.
