We’re based at Door No.10 on West Pulikkillam Road. This is in the Cheambumukku area of Kakanad, here in Cochin. The office is in a residential-looking building, so it feels quite cozy. We have blueprints and drawings rolled up in almost every corner. Modulus Engineering Construction is a small firm, despite the long name. We spend half our time here and the other half out at various sites around the district. It’s a lot of driving back and forth in the traffic. The rain in Cochin can be very heavy, so we always have a rack of umbrellas by the door. Our desks are covered in calculators and measuring tapes. We’ve been working out of this Kakanad location for a while. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, except when the school nearby lets out in the afternoon. We don't have a big receptionist area. Usually, you just walk in and one of us will look up from a drawing. It’s a practical workspace. We keep a kettle going for tea throughout the day. The walls are a bit bare, mostly just some calendars and a map of the city. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy lobby. We just focus on the projects we have on the table. It’s a busy life but we like the technical side of things. Sometimes the site visits take all day. We just get the work done as it comes.
