Punjabi Libas

You can find us on M. G. Road, right near the Kavitha Theatre. It is a very busy part of town, so there is always noise from the buses and cars outside. Our shop is where we keep all our fabrics and ready-made clothes. We have been here for years, and the building has seen better days, but it works for what we need. We spend most of our time measuring fabric or talking to customers about what they want for a special occasion. It is a lot of manual work, and our hands are usually busy with pins and measuring tapes. We don't have a corporate office or anything like that. Our office is just a small desk in the back covered in receipts and fabric scraps. Sometimes we run out of a certain color and have to wait for the supplier to bring more, which can be annoying for the customers, but we do our best to stay on top of things. The theatre next door brings in a lot of people, so we get a lot of foot traffic. It is a bit chaotic sometimes, especially during the wedding season when everyone is in a hurry. We don't use any fancy sales talk. We just show people what we have and let them decide. It’s a practical way to run a shop. We stay late most nights to finish the tailoring.
