Crafters

Our workshop and shop is located at VI/141 in Jew Town, along Tonk Road. If you’ve been to Jew Town, you know it has a very specific feel to it. The buildings are old and the streets are narrow. We fit right into that. We spend our time making and selling things, hence the name. It’s a lot of manual work. We might be sanding something down one minute and then showing a customer a finished piece the next. The front of the shop is where we display what we’ve been working on lately. It’s often a bit cluttered because we always have new projects on the go. There’s a smell of wood and polish that hangs in the air most of the time. We don’t have a massive team, just a few of us who know how to handle the tools. Most days start with a cup of coffee and a look at the to-do list, which always seems to be growing. We get a mix of people coming in—some tourists who are just looking around and some locals who want something repaired or made. It’s an interesting place to work because you never know who is going to walk through the door. The stone floors stay cool even when it’s baking outside on Tonk Road. We just keep our heads down and keep making things, day in and day out. It’s just what we do here.
