People in Kappalandimukku know our spot well. We've been here for a while now, just selling clothes to the folks around the neighborhood. It isn't a fancy place with bright lights or anything like that, but we keep the racks full of stuff people actually want to wear every day. I remember when we first opened the doors, we weren't really sure if it would work out, but the locals kept coming back. Most of the time it’s just us talking to customers about what fits or what looks okay. We don't do big ads. Usually, someone tells their cousin or a neighbor about us and that’s how we keep going. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded on the weekends, especially when new stock arrives from the city. It’s a lot of work keeping things organized, and honestly, the back room is always a bit of a mess with boxes. We just try to have enough variety so that if someone needs a shirt for a wedding or just some new pants for work, they can find it here. The street outside can get pretty noisy with all the traffic in Kappalandimukku, but inside we just focus on helping whoever walks in. It’s a simple business, nothing more than that. We’ve seen kids grow up and start buying their own clothes here, which is kind of nice when you think about it.
