Lakeshore Hospital

You can find Lakeshore Hospital over on Thevara Ferry Road. Specifically, we are in Apt. 12 B of the Uparika Malika building. It’s a bit of a different setup being in a building like this, but it works for what we do. The road outside can get pretty busy with people heading toward the ferry. You can hear the motorcycles and the occasional horn from the street below. We’ve been in this spot for a while, and the neighborhood knows us well. The elevator in the building is a bit slow, so a lot of us just take the stairs if we aren't carrying anything heavy. Inside Apt. 12 B, we’ve laid things out as best as the space allows. It’s not a huge area, so we have to be organized. We have some chairs for people to wait in, and the walls have a few old posters about health stuff. The light coming through the windows is quite nice in the afternoon. We see a lot of the same faces because we are right here on Thevara Ferry Road. It feels more like a community spot than a big institution. Sometimes we run out of tea in the break area, but someone usually runs out to get more. It’s a simple operation. We just keep the doors open for anyone who needs us in this part of town. It’s just how we run things here. There is nothing complicated about our daily routine or our goals.
