Glass House

Glass House is right at Shop No. 11/626, over by the Kalady Road Junction. If you know Kalady at all, you know that the junction can get pretty hectic with cars and buses coming from all directions. Our shop is right in the middle of all that activity. We spend our days mostly measuring out sheets of glass and trying to keep the floor clear of any sharp bits. It is a practical kind of job. We don’t have a website or a big social media presence because we are usually too busy working with our hands. The building we are in is an older one, so it has its quirks, like the door that sticks when it rains. We have been here at the junction for a long time, and we know most of the other shop owners nearby. We share a bit of gossip and tea when things are slow. People stop in because they saw our sign while waiting at the light. We don’t try to sell people things they don't need. If they want a piece of glass for a frame or a shelf, we just tell them what we have and how long it will take to cut. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until we close up at night. The dust from the road comes in sometimes, but we just sweep it out.
