Design Base

Design Base is located on the second floor of the D D Cornerstone building in Kadavanthra. It’s a pretty central spot in Kochi, so there is always something going on outside. Our office isn’t huge, but we make it work. We have a few desks pushed together and cables running across the floor that we really should tidy up one day. Most of us are here by nine, and the first thing we do is get the coffee started. The atmosphere is generally quiet because everyone is focused on their own projects, though we do end up chatting a lot over lunch. We have some samples of materials lying around and various books on the shelves that have seen better days. The view from the window is mostly just the street and other buildings, but it lets in some good light. We don't have any big corporate rules or anything like that. If someone needs a break, they just take one. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sending emails back and forth. It’s the kind of place where you can wear whatever you want as long as the work gets finished. Sometimes the lift in the building acts up, and we have to walk up to the second floor, which isn't too bad. We’ve been here for a while now and are used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. It’s just a small group of us trying to do our jobs properly.
