Smeclabs

The office is over in the Kaloor Complex, up on the second floor. It’s a decent enough place to spend the day, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you’re carrying a lot of gear. We do a lot of technical stuff here, mostly labs and training things that keep us pretty busy from morning until evening. The rooms are filled with equipment and computers, so it stays cool with the air conditioning running all day. Sometimes the hallway gets a bit crowded when a lot of people are coming in for their sessions, but we manage. It’s not the most modern building in the world, but it serves its purpose for what we do. We usually grab lunch from one of the shops downstairs because it’s easy and quick. There isn't really a formal vibe here. Most of us are just focused on the screens or fixing some bit of hardware that isn't acting right. We don't have a big reception desk or anything; you just walk in and find someone. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes with all the cables and desks, but we know where everything is. We spend our time trying to make sure the setups are working for whoever is coming in that day. It's a lot of routine work, checking connections and software, but it keeps the lights on. We’re just a group of people doing our jobs in a busy part of town.
