Seemanchal Library Foundation

You can find Seemanchal Library Foundation in the village of Halamala, which is part of the Kishanganj block. We are located at Abdul Kalam’s place in Tola Aambari. It is a very rural setting, surrounded by fields and the quiet of the countryside. Our library isn't like the big ones you see in cities with computers and glass walls. It is just a collection of books in a simple village house where people can come to read and learn. The Panch-Halamala area is small, so everyone knows where Abdul Kalam lives. We started this because we wanted the kids and adults here to have something to read without having to travel all the way into the main town of Kishanganj. Some days it is very quiet, and you can just hear the wind through the trees. Other days, we have several young people sitting around, sharing books and talking about what they have learned. The shelves are mostly full of textbooks and some local literature. We don't have a lot of money to spend on fancy things, so we just make do with what we have. Sometimes the light is a bit dim inside, but we try to keep the windows open for fresh air. It is a very honest place where the main goal is just to have books available for anyone who wants them. We live and work right here in the village, so we are always around if someone needs a book.
