Dhanuka Agritech Ltd. is located out here in Hatkoti, which is part of the Jubbal tehsil in Shimla district. Being in a village area means we're right in the middle of where the actual farming happens. It's beautiful around here, especially when the seasons change, but the roads can be a bit of a challenge in the winter. We handle stuff related to agriculture because that’s what everyone around here does. Most of our day is spent talking to people who come in from the nearby fields. Our office isn't anything special to look at. It's just a practical space where we keep our records and meet folks. Working in Shimla means you have to be ready for the cold. Sometimes the mountain air is nice, other times it makes you want to stay inside by the heater all day. We’ve been part of the local scene for a bit now. People know where to find us in VPO Hatkoti. We don't really do much advertising. Word of mouth is usually how people hear about what we’re doing. It’s a quiet life compared to the big cities, but there is always plenty of work to get through. We just try to stay honest and do our bit for the community. Sometimes things get busy during the planting or harvest times, and other times it's just regular maintenance work. It's how we spend our days and it keeps us busy enough through the whole year.
