Being based in Khurja means we are surrounded by ceramics all the time. Our place at 247//4 is where we handle all the daily work for News.D.Mceramic. It’s not a shiny office or anything like that. It’s a practical space where we deal with clay, kilns, and lots of finished pots and tiles. The floors are rarely clean because of the nature of the work, but we try our best. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the batches coming out. Sometimes things don't go perfectly, and we have to start over, but that’s just how working with ceramics goes. It’s a bit of a process. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to get the orders out and make sure the locals have what they need for their projects. Most of our day is spent in the back area, moving heavy boxes or loading up trucks. If you come by, you might have to wait a minute for someone to hear you over the noise of the machinery. We don't have a receptionist, so one of us just wipes our hands and comes out to say hello. It’s a busy life here in Khurja, and we’ve been at it for a while. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing, day in and day out. It’s a noisy, dusty, but satisfying way to spend the week.
