Arnab Bricks

Arnab Bricks is located in Village Daya Banda, which is under Taluka Tangi. We are situated very close to National Highway 5, so we hear the big trucks rolling past all day and night. The vibration from the highway is something you get used to after a week or so. Our site is a bit of a trek from the main town, but being near the NH5 helps with getting the supplies in. The mud in Daya Banda is thick and sticky, which is perfect for molding. We have a few sheds where the workers stay, and a small area for the site supervisor. The rainy season is the hardest time for us because the whole field turns into a swamp. We have to stop production then and just wait for the ground to harden up again. It is a cycle we have followed for years. We don’t do much marketing or anything like that. People just see the stacks from the road and stop by if they need something. We handle the loading ourselves most of the time. It is exhausting work, especially in the humidity of the Tangi area. We just keep the kilns going as long as the weather holds. There are always stacks of bricks at different stages of the process scattered around the village site. It isn't a clean job, but it is what we know how to do. The days are long but we get by.
