You’ll find us at Plot No-137, Duplex-07, which is part of the Citi Home Housing Project in Tiranapada, Balianta. Our work is a bit of a mix since we handle both construction projects and stevedoring. This means some days we are looking at building foundations and other days we are worried about moving cargo. It keeps things interesting and there’s never a dull moment. The office in the duplex is where we handle the logistics and the mountain of paperwork that comes with these kinds of jobs. Balianta is a bit of a commute for some of us, but it’s a good location for the work we do. We don't have any polished speeches about what we do; we just get on with the tasks at hand. Sometimes the logistics of stevedoring get complicated with schedules and port authorities, and construction has its own set of headaches like rain delays or material shortages. We just try to manage it all as best as we can. Our desks are usually piled high with files and there's always a pot of coffee or tea going. We spend a lot of time on our mobiles trying to track down shipments or talking to the site supervisors. It’s a practical, busy life and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We focus on the daily grind and making sure the work actually gets finished on time. There's plenty of work to go around.
