Snehan Empowerment & Healthcare Activities Foundation

We are based at Sunil Kumar Nayak’s place on the Main Road in Kalinga. It’s easy to spot because the Main Road is always full of traffic and people walking by. Snehan Empowerment & Healthcare Activities Foundation is what we go by, but most locals just know us as the people working out of Sunil’s house. The building is right there where all the action is. Inside, it’s a bit of a mix of a living space and a workspace. We have chairs lined up for people who come in for the healthcare side of things. It can get pretty loud with the buses honking outside, but we’re used to it. We spend a lot of time checking supplies and talking to folks from the nearby villages. It’s a practical setup. We don't have a receptionist or anything; whoever is closest to the door just gets up and says hello. The floors are easy to clean, which is good because people bring in a lot of dust from the road. We have a big table where we spread out all our health flyers and notebooks. It feels very connected to the street. You can see everything happening outside through the front window. We just keep things simple and try to be available whenever someone stops by to ask for help or some advice on a medical matter. It is a humble place but we get the job done.
