Prasad Steel

Prasad Steel is located right at College Square in Chhatra Baza. If you know where the Laxman Ram Building is, you can’t really miss us. We are just a few doors down from there. The area is usually quite crowded with people going to the market or students heading to the college. It gets pretty loud during the day with all the traffic and the noise of metal being moved around. We deal with all kinds of steel rods and sheets that builders and locals need for their projects. The shop isn’t very big, so we have to stack everything quite carefully so we don’t run out of space. My hands are usually covered in some kind of grease or dust by the end of the shift. We’ve been at this spot for a long time now, so most of the other shopkeepers around Chhatra Baza are our friends. We usually have tea together in the afternoon when things settle down a bit. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because the roads are so narrow around here, and we just have to wait it out. It is a bit of a struggle to manage the inventory when it gets busy, but we do our best to keep things moving. We don't have any fancy displays or a big sign. It’s just a place where you come to get your steel and go. We try to be fair with everyone who walks in and just get the job done.
