People Association For Social Development

Our place is located at Plot No - 162/167 in the Chakei Sihani area of Rasulgarh. If you know Bhubaneswar, you know Rasulgarh is always moving. There’s a lot of noise from the trucks and the market nearby, but you get used to it after a week or two. The People Association For Social Development has been operating from this building for several years. It’s a sturdy old place with high ceilings that stay relatively cool even when the sun is beating down. We have a few rooms filled with files and old registers. We aren't very high-tech here. Most of our work is done on paper or through face-to-face conversations. We have a small table where we all sit for lunch, and that’s usually where the best ideas come from. It’s not a corporate environment. We don't wear ties or have formal titles. Everyone just pitches in where they can. Sometimes the neighborhood kids come in to ask for help with their homework, and we try to assist if we aren't too busy. The entrance can be easy to miss if you’re driving fast, so we tell people to look for the landmark nearby. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a PR team. We just have ourselves and our neighbors. It’s a practical, local operation, and we like the fact that we are right in the middle of the community.
