Navonmesh Prasar Foundation

We are based at Plot No- S-072 in the Maitri Vihar area of Bhubaneswar. This is part of the Khordha district in Orissa. Our office is a plain building that looks like most of the other houses on the street. We don't have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. When you walk in, you’ll see some desks and a couple of cabinets where we keep our foundation records. It’s a quiet neighborhood for the most part, which helps us stay focused on our tasks. We usually start our day around nine in the morning. The staff here is small, just a handful of local people who wanted to do something useful. We spend a lot of time on the phone or working on the computer to coordinate our projects. The walls are mostly bare except for a map of the local area. Sometimes we have people from the neighborhood stop by to ask what we are doing. We just explain it simply and maybe offer them a glass of water. It can get quite warm in the summer, so we have a couple of ceiling fans that run all day long. The kitchen is small, but we use it to make coffee and lunch. We don't have any big slogans on the walls. We just come in, do what needs to be done, and then head home in the evening. It’s a practical setup that works well for us. We've been at this address for several years and it feels like home now.
