Maa Ramchandi Fabrication

Living and working in a place like Gada is different than being in a big city. Our shop is right there near the post office in the village. Most of us here in the Ranpur area know each other by name. In the fabrication business, there is a lot of heat and sparks flying around. We spend most of our time cutting metal and joining things together. It is heavy work and our hands are usually stained with soot or rust by midday. The shop gets quite warm, especially during the summer months in Nayagarh. We have a couple of big fans, but they mostly just push the warm air around. Still, we keep at it. There is something about the sound of the grinders and the smell of the welding that just feels like a normal day. We don't have any big corporate meetings or anything. Usually, it's just a conversation over a cup of tea about what needs to be welded next. We see the same faces every day, from the local farmers to people driving through from the tehsil. It is a quiet village life otherwise. When the power goes out, we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It’s a simple way to run a business. We just try to do a decent job with the metal we have and keep the machines running. It’s been this way for a long time here at Maa Ramchandi Fabrication in the District of Nayagarh.
