Kalinga Hospital

Kalinga Hospital is situated in the Chandrasekarpur area of Bhubaneswar. It’s a large building and fairly easy to spot if you are driving through this part of the city. Chandrasekarpur has grown a lot lately, and we have been here to see it all happen. The hospital has several floors and a lot of different wings to it. It can be a bit confusing if it’s your first time here, but we usually have people around to point you in the right direction. The lobby is quite big and there is almost always a crowd of people near the main desk. We have those rows of joined-up seating in the waiting zones. The air feels different here than outside because of the air conditioning, which is a relief in the heat of Bhubaneswar. We have many staff members who have been with us for a decade or more. You can see them rushing around in their uniforms doing their jobs in Chandrasekarpur. The floors are polished but they get scuffed up pretty quickly with so many feet walking on them every single day. Outside, the parking area is usually packed with cars and ambulances. There are some tea stalls just across the street where people go for a break. It is a very busy place with a lot of noise and movement. We just keep going, day and night, because that’s what a hospital in a place like Chandrasekarpur has to do.
