Jindal Steel & Power Ltd

You can find us over at N-4/40 in IRC Village, which is a nice enough part of Bhubaneswar. It’s more of a residential-style setup, so it doesn’t feel like you’re walking into a cold, giant factory building. We’ve been operating this Jindal Steel & Power Ltd location for a while now, and it’s become a bit of a second home for the staff. The street outside is usually quiet, which is a nice break from the main roads in Orissa. We spend most of our time dealing with the logistics and the administrative side of things. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll see big furnaces or heavy machinery, but it’s where all the planning happens. We keep things pretty informal around here; we might be wearing regular clothes and drinking tea while we go over the spreadsheets. There’s no big manual on how to talk to people, we just use our common sense and get the job done. Sometimes the humidity makes it hard to focus, but we’ve got our routine down. It’s a small team, so everyone knows what the other person is working on. We don’t bother with fancy slogans or big mission statements because they don’t really help us get the work finished. We just show up at the office in IRC Village, do our bit for the day, and then head home to our families in the evening.
