Jharana Foundation

You can find us at Plot Number 777 in Shampur, which is part of the Ghatikia area near the Khandagiri police station. It is a bit of a walk from the main road, but it is a nice spot once you get here. We go by Jharana Foundation. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles at our office. It’s just a basic building where we keep our stuff and meet up to talk about what needs doing in the local area. Some days are very quiet and we just catch up on some reading or filing. Other days, the place is full of people from Shampur and Ghatikia who have things on their mind. We try to be a place where someone can just come and talk without feeling like they are in a formal meeting. We have some old benches outside where people can sit if the inside gets too full. The walls are a bit plain and we don't have much decoration, but it serves its purpose. We don't have a huge staff or a lot of equipment. We mostly rely on word of mouth to let people know we are here. If someone has a problem or a suggestion for the community, they know they can stop by Plot 777 and we will listen. We aren't trying to be some big famous organization. We just want to be a steady part of the neighborhood here in Khandagiri and do our part when we can.
