Jay Shiksha Foundation

Our foundation is located over on Orissa Road, right at Kabir Chowk. We work out of Shri Vivek Agrawal’s place. It is a well-known spot in the area, so we are easy to find if you are walking by. Shiksha means education, and that is what we spend most of our time thinking about. But we aren't a school with classrooms and bells. We are more like a small hub where people come to talk about learning and how to get kids into better situations. The office is pretty basic. We have some shelves with books and old folders scattered around. It gets a bit dusty because of the traffic on Orissa Road, but we don't mind much. We spend a lot of our day just talking to parents or local teachers. Sometimes we help with paperwork or explain how to sign up for certain programs. It is slow work sometimes. You don't see results right away, and that can be frustrating. But we keep at it because it feels like the right thing to do for the neighborhood. We don't have a big budget or anything. Most of what we do comes down to just being present and willing to listen. If you stop by Kabir Chowk, you’ll probably see us sitting around a table with some tea, trying to figure out the next step for a student. We aren't fancy, just a few people trying to help out with the education side of things here.
