HEMALATA TEXTILE MACHINERY PRIVATE LIMITED

We handle the machines for the local textile trade here in Sonepur. Our place is right by the Andhra Bank, specifically at Khata 591 on plots 403 and 492. It is a busy spot and you can usually hear the sound of metal clanking from the street. We work under the care of Palasti Meher and have been at this for a good while now. Dealing with heavy parts and keeping the setups running takes up almost all our time. It is not exactly clean work, we mostly have grease on our hands and spend the day fixing things that have worn out. When you walk in, you will see we keep things very basic. There is no fancy front office or a place to sit and wait. Just the tools and the machinery parts we need to get the job done. We started this because the weavers in this part of Orissa needed someone nearby who understands the equipment they use every day. It keeps us on our toes from the morning until quite late in the evening. The Sonepur weather gets really hot in the summer, so the shed can feel like an oven sometimes, but we just keep working through it. Most people who come by are local folks or people from villages nearby looking for a specific bolt or help with a broken loom. We try to keep what they need on the shelves, though we do run out sometimes.
