Empty Cages Foundation

The Empty Cages Foundation is located at Bangali Sahi, right in Dhobi Lane in Cuttack. We are officially listed under the care of Pradeep Kumar Pattnaik. This part of Cuttack is quite old and the lanes are narrow, so it can be a bit of a squeeze getting through. We are surrounded by other families and small shops, which makes the whole place feel very lived-in. Our work revolves around animals, so there is usually a lot of activity and noise coming from our direction. It’s not a quiet, sterile office. There are always things that need cleaning or fixing. We use our space to keep track of the animals we are helping and where they need to go. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the lane a bit muddy, but we just put on our boots and keep going. We don’t have fancy marketing or a big sign out front. Most people find us just by asking around the neighborhood. The staff here are just regular people from Cuttack 753009 who don't mind getting their hands dirty. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just walking around the area. It’s simple work, but it takes up all our time. We just do what needs to be done every day without making a big fuss about it. The building is old and shows its age, but it serves our purpose well enough for now. We like being right here in the middle of Bangali Sahi.
