Dad Construction Private Limited operates out of Jharapada, Laxmisagar, at Plot No-432/2993. This part of Bhubaneswar is always buzzing with people and traffic, so there is never a dull moment at the office. We are right in the middle of things, which makes it easier to get to different sites around Khordha. The office itself is pretty basic, just a place to keep the records and meet with the foremen. Construction is a messy business, so there is usually some dust on the floor and a lot of worn-out boots near the door. We spend a lot of time talking to local vendors and making sure we are getting the right materials for the price. It’s not a job for someone who wants to stay clean and sit in the AC all day. Most of our time is spent out in the sun, checking on the progress of a wall or a floor. We don't have any big corporate goals; we just want to keep the projects moving and stay on schedule as much as possible. Sometimes the monsoon rains make everything a mess, and we have to stop for a few days, which is frustrating. But once the sun comes out, we are right back at it. It’s a practical way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it in Laxmisagar for quite some time now.
