Our place is located at Plot No: 1068(P) in Unit 8 of Bhubaneswar. It’s a central spot which makes it easier for us to get around to the different sites we are working on. We do a bit of everything here, from basic construction to various services that people in the city need. The office is just a regular room with some computers and a lot of notebooks where we keep track of what’s happening. It’s usually pretty loud with the traffic outside and the constant ringing of phones. We don’t really have a mission statement or any of that stuff; we just try to get the jobs done so we can get paid and move to the next one. Managing a construction business in a city like this involves a lot of patience, especially when dealing with the heat or the sudden monsoon rains that stop everything in its tracks. We spend a fair amount of time talking to local vendors and trying to find the best prices for wood or tiles. Sometimes things go smoothly and sometimes we are stuck waiting for hours for a delivery that never shows up. It’s just the reality of the business. We are a small team and we all pitch in where it's needed, whether that’s doing paperwork or going out to a site to help move some materials. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy. That's the way it's been for us.
