Bada Devi Foundation

Bada Devi Foundation is located at Kshirasindhu Chhura’s place in Kheja Luhura Borda. It’s a small operation, just a few of us trying to do some good. We named it after the local deity because that’s what felt right for our community. We don't have a big staff or fancy equipment. We mostly just meet up and figure out who needs help in the village. Borda is a small place, so news travels fast. If someone is sick or a family is having a hard time, we usually hear about it pretty quickly. We try to step in where we can. Sometimes we help with food, and other times we might help someone fix a roof or get their kids ready for school. It’s not a very formal process. We don't like a lot of red tape or long meetings. We just want to get things done without making a big fuss about it. It’s been a bit of a learning curve for us, figuring out how to run things properly, but we are getting there. We aren't looking for fame or anything like that. We just live here and want to see our neighbors doing well. If you come by Borda, you can usually find one of us working around the house or out in the fields. It’s a very local effort, and we’re proud of that. We aren't trying to be something we're not. We are just local people looking out for each other. That’s what matters to us in the end.
