We are set up on Canal Road in Patitapaban Nagar, near the Kalpana area. The plot number is 1136/8591. It’s an interesting spot because you can see the canal right from the front. We call ourselves a lifestyle industry, which covers a few different things we do here. We’re mostly making items for the home and some clothes too. The building is just a standard concrete structure. Inside, it's a bit loud because of the machines running. We have about five or six people working here most days. It’s a lot of manual labor. We don't have fancy automated systems for everything. We carry the rolls of fabric in ourselves and we load the trucks when they arrive. It keeps us busy. The dust from the road sometimes gets inside, so we’re always wiping down the tables. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy lobby or free coffee. If you come by, you’ll just see us working. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. The tea guy comes by at four, and that’s usually the highlight of our afternoon. We just want to make decent stuff that lasts. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s ours and we take it seriously in our own way. We just keep our heads down and get the orders out on time.
