Aj Eye Hospital

Aj Eye Hospital is over at 33 Samanta Vihar. It’s a dedicated space where we focus entirely on people’s vision. Most of what we do involves checking eyes and figuring out why someone can't see as well as they used to. We have those machines where you have to put your chin on a little plastic rest and look at a picture of a house or a balloon. The clinic is usually quiet compared to the rest of the city. We keep the lights a bit lower in certain areas because people have their eyes dilated and they get sensitive to the sun. Samanta Vihar is a decent location for us, and it’s easy enough for people to find. We have a small display of frames for those who need new glasses, but mostly it’s about the medical side of things. I spend a lot of time explaining how to use eye drops correctly. The floors are kept very clean and the staff usually wears white coats. It’s not a massive place, but we have enough room to get the job done. Sometimes the waiting area gets full on Monday mornings, but it clears out by lunch. We don't use a lot of big words or medical jargon when talking to patients; we just tell them what’s going on with their eyes in plain English. It is a steady, quiet place to work. It’s nice to see someone walk out seeing better than when they came in.
