Shehenai Shop

Our place is called Shehenai Shop, and you can find us at Unit No. 2 in the Eastern Tower. That’s in the No. 10 Market Building, quite close to the Rajmahal Pair Chowk. It’s a bit of a maze inside the building if you aren't used to it, but once you find the Eastern Tower, we are right there. We deal with traditional items and wedding-related things, so the shop is usually full of colorful fabrics and decorative pieces. We spend our days folding materials and showing different options to families who come in for their shopping. The area around Rajmahal Pair Chowk is always buzzing with people, especially during the wedding season. It gets quite loud with the traffic and the street noise, but inside the shop, it’s a bit more manageable. We have some stools for customers to sit on while they look through what we have on the counters. The lighting isn't the best in this part of the building, but we have some extra bulbs to help show the true colors of the fabric. We’ve been in this market building for a long time, and we’ve seen shops come and go. We keep our space organized, though it gets messy when we are busy with several customers at once. It’s a local spot where we know the neighbors and the security guards by their first names. We just open up, do our work, and head home.
