Prakesh Chandra Pal

Prakesh Chandra Pal is the name on the door here at Plot No. 181 in Dharma Vihar. We are situated in the Khandagiri area of Bhubaneshwar, which most people know because of the nearby Jagannath Temple. It’s a good neighborhood with a lot of history. The office is part of the Akaar Architects space, so there is always a lot of talk about buildings and structures going on. It’s a busy environment but not in a corporate way. It’s more like a workshop where everyone is focused on their own tasks. We have a lot of maps and site plans pinned to the walls. Some of them are old and yellowed, while others are fresh off the printer. We don’t spend much time on fancy talk or marketing. People usually come to us because they have a specific problem with a piece of land or they want to know if they can build a second floor on an old house. We give them a straight answer based on what we know. The office gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we usually have the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes through Khandagiri. We aren't a big firm with hundreds of employees. It’s just a few dedicated people who know how to handle the local regulations and the technical side of construction. We’ve been in Dharma Vihar for a long time, and we like being part of how the city is growing.
