We spend most of our days at Plot 54 in Goutam Nagar. It is a busy spot here in Bhubaneswar and easy to find once you are in the area. Mr. A.K. Das is usually around the office keeping things moving and making sure everyone knows what they are supposed to be doing. Working with plywood means a lot of lifting and checking different sheets for the local orders. It gets pretty hot and humid in Orissa, so we try to get the heavy warehouse work done early in the morning before the sun gets too high. The office isn't fancy at all. It is just a practical place where we handle the paperwork and talk to folks who come by looking for materials. There are stacks of wood everywhere and the smell of sawdust is always in the air. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just wait it out and keep working as best as we can. We usually eat lunch together when there is a quiet moment. The trucks come in through the narrow roads and we often have to go outside to help them navigate the tight space near the plot. It is a lot of back and forth between the desk and the storage area. People walk in looking for specific thicknesses or types of Greenply boards for their home projects. We show them what we have in stock. It is a simple setup, really. We just focus on getting the orders out.
