We are situated out in Village Dheku, which is in the Khalapur Taluka of Raigad district. Our property spans across several survey numbers, 202 to 210, so it’s a pretty large site. It’s much quieter out here than in the middle of a big city, which we actually prefer. We make different kinds of wires here. It’s a process that takes up a lot of space, hence the large plot. Most of the people who work here live in the surrounding villages. They walk or bike to work every morning. We’ve become a bit of a fixture in Dheku over the years. The air is fresher here, though the monsoon rains can be quite heavy and sometimes flood the dirt paths around the factory. We just deal with it as it comes. We aren't interested in being some high-profile company with a lot of flash. We just keep our machines running and make sure the wire is coiled properly for shipping. Most of our days are spent checking the gauges and making sure the raw materials are arriving on time. It’s a practical business. We don't have a lot of meetings; we just get to work. If you come by to visit, you'll probably find us in the middle of loading a truck or checking the stock in the yard. It’s a good, honest living for everyone involved here at Samrat Wires.
