The Indian Academy

Our place is on Dhudhwa Road in Palia Kalan. It’s a bit of a journey for some, but being in Lakhimpur Kheri, we are used to that. The school sits right there on the road, so we see all the trucks and tractors passing by heading towards the forest area. It’s a plain building with enough rooms for all the different grades we have. We’ve been operating here for a while and the staff are all from the local area. We don't have many fancy facilities, just the basic things you need for a school. The days are usually pretty busy with the kids coming in from the surrounding villages. We try to keep the schedule tight so we can get through all the subjects. During the monsoon, the road gets quite messy, but we still manage to keep the doors open. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that; people usually hear about us from their neighbors. The teachers just focus on the books and making sure the kids are doing their homework. It’s a very straightforward way of running things. We have a small yard where the kids can stand for the morning assembly and play a bit during the break. It’s just a regular school in a rural part of the state, and we are just trying to do our job the best we can every day.
