The place we work is J-3/41 in Jaitpura, specifically the Katehar area. Our full name is Katehar Pilikothi Handloom Weaver Producer Company Limited. It is a very long name for a group of us working in a small space. Jaitpura has these narrow lanes that can be a bit tricky to navigate if you aren't used to them. We have our handlooms set up inside J-3/41. You can hear the rhythmic clicking of the machines from the street. It is a sound we have grown very used to over the years. Being a producer company means we have a lot of different people involved. We are located right in the heart of Katehar where weaving is a way of life for many families. Our building is old and has a lot of character, but it is mostly just a workspace. We don't have a big showroom or anything polished. There are stacks of yarn and fabric everywhere you look. Katehar Pilikothi Handloom Weaver Producer Company Limited is just a collection of us trying to keep the tradition going. We spend our lunch breaks talking about the weather or local news. It is a simple existence at J-3/41. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements. The work speaks for itself, and people in Jaitpura know where to find us.
