We are located in Damodarchak village, which is under the Janka post office. It’s a quiet part of the Purba Midnapur district, far away from the big city noise. I grew up in this village, so I know almost everyone who walks past our door. Our office is part of the community here, right in the Khejuri police station area. Things move a bit slower in this part of the world, and we like it that way. We do our business mostly through word of mouth. Someone’s uncle needs something, or a neighbor is starting a project, and they just come over for a chat. We don’t have any shiny brochures or a marketing team. It’s just us sitting at the wooden table with a ledger and some pens. Sometimes we spend more time talking about the local crops or the weather than we do about actual business. It’s a very local way of doing things. My family has been in this area for generations, so the name Gourab Surya Dey & Co. means something to the people around here. We try to keep things fair and straightforward because we have to see these people at the market every week. It’s not about being the biggest company; it’s just about being a part of the village and doing our job properly so we can keep going next year.
