Mangalam Alloys Limited takes up a good amount of space over at Plot No. 3123/24/25/26 in the Gidc area of Chhatral, which is in the Gandhinagar district. Having four plots connected means there is a lot of ground to cover every day. You can hear the clanking of metal from quite a distance away. The yard is usually full of raw materials and finished items waiting to be loaded onto the big trailers. It gets very dusty in Chhatral, especially when the wind picks up, so we are always cleaning off the equipment. We don't have a big fancy lobby with air conditioning for guests. Most people who come here are truck drivers or vendors, so we just meet them out by the main entrance or in the small shed near the gate. The sun hits the metal roofs pretty hard in the afternoon, making it quite loud when it rains or very hot when it’s clear. We have a team of guys who have been here since the start and they know exactly how the alloys need to be handled. There’s a lot of physical work involved, and nobody here is afraid to get their hands dirty. We keep a record of everything in big handwritten logs because that’s how we’ve always done it. It’s a busy, noisy, and honest place to work. We don't put on any acts for anyone who stops by the plots in Chhatral.
