Shining Agate Exports

Our place, Shining Agate Exports, is right in the heart of Khambhat. We are located in Mustak House on Furza Street, which is a busy little area near the Jama Masjid. You can hear the calls to prayer while we’re working with the stones. Khambhat has a long history with agate, and we’re just another part of that tradition. We spend a lot of time sorting through rough stones and seeing what’s good for export. It’s dusty work. The air is always full of that fine stone powder. We aren’t a massive factory with robots. Most of the work is done by hand, sitting on low stools and looking closely at the colors and patterns. Some days the shipments are ready early, other days we’re scrambling to finish a crate. Furza Street is narrow, so getting trucks in and out is always a bit of a gamble. We’ve known our neighbors for decades. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows your business. We don't use much fancy tech, just old scales and our eyes. We send these stones all over, but they all start right here in this cluttered room. Sometimes we find a really nice piece and just keep it on the shelf for a while just to look at it. It’s not just business, it’s what everyone here does. We just keep sorting through the stones every day.
